About Maggie Tisserand

Maggie was born in 1950 and has been involved with aromatherapy since the early 1970’s, and was a mother of three children by 1979. She utilised essential oils throughout each pregnancy and labour and in bringing up her children without recourse to antibiotics or allopathic medicines.

It was this practical Maggie Tisserandknowledge that formed the basis of her first book ‘Aromatherapy for Women’. By the mid-1980s Maggie was a single parent and turned her attention to buying and selling essential oils; exporting to Japan by the late 80’s.

The Japanese translation of ‘Aromatherapy for Women’ was the stepping stone for Maggie and her Japanese partners to create and promote a range of aromatherapy products throughout Japan, and Maggie was (in 1989) the first public speaker on the subject of aromatherapy and has lectured in Kyoto, Osaka and Tokyo. For over twenty years Maggie’s product range has enjoyed success in all parts of Japan, selling through herb shops and department stores.

Over the years Maggie has travelled extensively, meeting growers and distillers of aromatic plants, and she successfully juggled family and career; made all the easier by staying in good health. Essential oils have always been a mainstay of Maggie’s medicine chest.
